What information do I need before getting a quote on a new build or addition?

• It’s helpful to have an outline of what you’re looking to accomplish, a timeframe you would like it completed in, an idea of styles or finishes you prefer, a general budget range that has an allowance for unforeseen costs, and possession of the property the structure is on or will be on. If this is an insurance-related job with water or storm damage involved, we’ll also need to know all claim and insurance information.

Why is it better to hire a residential contractor instead of just hiring a carpenter, plumber, or handyman or doing it myself?

How do I get a quote, and what is your quoting process?

• Start by filling out the website form or calling us at (616) 862-8778. We have a few questions we ask at the beginning of every potential project to help us serve you better. After answering those questions and forwarding photos of the area or project in mind, we arrange an onsite appointment with our owner, Jamie Simmons. He meets with clients and goes over the specifics of each project in person. Quotes are built for the client’s specific needs, then contract paperwork is signed before a building schedule is set with our home renovators and kitchen and bathroom remodelers.

When should I call if I want my kitchen remodeled by Christmas?

• We recommend six to nine months from your ideal completion date on larger projects like a kitchen remodel, simple additions, and space reconfigurations where walls, electrical, and plumbing need to be moved. Smaller projects can often be worked on sooner. Full builds often require a full-year window.
